Redlight Redlight Adoption Benefit

Hello sports fans.
It’s a beautiful day in sunny Winter Park Florida, I regret not owning a set of windchimes. There’s a gentle breeze in the air, a peaceful easy feeling, maybe its just the calm before the storm. We’re embarking on one of the most hectic trips of our short careers in hopes that it will be equally rewarding. The elements are definitely in line, we’ve got a sold out show to play in New York with one of our favorite bands, the Damnwells.
But lets go back.
Two weeks ago we threw a benefit show for a wonderful(ly) annonymous family adopting a child from Africa. The show was a success, we raised a lot of money for a good cause and had a great time. We’re still working out the kinks in the sound at our local “Cheers” but we will get there. We were the only band providing the full on loud experience for the evening so I think we got the brunt of sound problems but such is life/rocknroll/small clubs.
Our good buddy and King of New England, CJ Mask started the evening with some cool new stuff. I think he songs are starting to take a cool shape I would love to hear what he would do recording them. I think our good friend Peter mentioned the Smoking Popes to him, he’s on the right track. Also, if you’re looking to record on the cheap, send me a message and I’ll hook you up with CJ, he will make you sound like the Black Crowes have a sweet garage rock band, I wish they did.
After CJ our good friend Damion played a set. As many of you know his record was officially released into the wild yesterday. I’ve told you before but I’ll say it again, it’s a wonderfully honest, musical and educated piece of work. It’s new and old at the same time just the way I like it. Anyways here’s Damion doing his best Aretha impression.

Lou played a great little set next. Lou has been playing solo shows on electric guitar lately, it always reminds me of these Westerberg videos I found on youtube. We got together at the end and did a really fun version of ‘Meet Me in Georgia’, I loved it.

We also had a couple new friends from TOMs, the shoes that look like ninjas should wear them, present a video beforehand. I think they have a really cool organization and its right in line with our philosophy as well as that of our label P is for Panda. It is not a non-profit organization, just a successful business with it’s heart in the right place and it’s good to see success for something like that. I’ve been reading up a bit about the Clinton Foundation and a lot of these programs that he has been introducing are really interesting. The basis is in finding ways for capitalists and entreperneurs to invest in 3rd world country initiatives, truly invest not donate, I think it’s interesting and powerful I’ll let you know if I get more in depth with it. Anyways, you can learn more about TOMs by clicking this dealy.
Our friends Chad and Candy just happened to show up (wink wink) and it was a pleasure to see them and share a drink. Chad also got boots recently, they make him look taller and thinner, I support them fully. Here’s our buddy Chad
Anyways not to much to ruminate on this whole thing just another reminder that when you do good things, good things can happen to you. No epic quote. No big ideas. Just simple and right.
Oh yeah here’s one of those Westerberg videos I was talking about.
That song just but bummed me out but all of these photos are by our good buddy @chadpearson, he looks like this:

See you in New York City!!!
